Services offered and populations served
Centrelink website is an initiative by the Australian government, to assist the delivery of a different services and unemployment benefits to the Australian people (Australian Government: Department of human services, par. 1). The website targets people who earn little or have no salary. The website collaborates with different government agencies to link Australians to services and resources they might need (Australian Government: Department of human services, par. 1). One of the primary purposes of this website is outreach; going out to the community to work together with the clients in their environment, this is done in order to reach to the underserved populations (Mehr and Kanwischer 53).
The provided services, organize different social groups in developing needed services while initiating the social change. The site has very important information it can help a person to decide when to register for payments and services that they can receive in different circumstances.
Cultural competence skills needed to provide effective services
Practicing culturally centered communication skills are important for the delivery of efficient services. The development of the triple skills of dialogue, conflict recovery and problem solving are pivotal and essential to one another, they give critical information concerning the cultural diverse ways that people think and also behave (Hogan 65). In the above aspect, different elements have ensured that interactions become possible.
The daily practice of the above competencies and the daily tasks of making them personal cultures by applying them create a personal foundation for the purpose of engaging in dialogue and the conflict recovery process in a culturally diverse environment (Hogan 65). Listening carefully is an important skill that will help the human service providers listen to all the people that they serve; they should especially pay attention to thoughts and feelings. All personal biases plus stereotypes should be managed using an appropriate manner. Uncertainty should be well tolerated, in order to avoid stress.
In chapter five of his book, Mikel recommends “Designing and Implementing organizational cultural competence” as one of the major skills needed for the purpose of providing effective services (Hogan 71). Under the above skills, correct implementation of action plans is important for identification, organizational of institutional diversity issues and problem solving strategies. By placing all action plans with specific contexts people will understand the usefulness of action plans and the importance they have to the four cultural skills in which they are made.
I personally feel that the Centre link website is immensely informative; it has helped to create awareness of needs and resources through the effective marketing and the public relations activities. The site provides information on different aspects helping people to understand their different options when they are faced by different circumstances.
The website functionality is immensely amazing; it is worth noting that websites that are broken or even poorly made, make visitors frustrated. Everything in a website should work perfectly well. The Centre link website is flawless and explains everything in detail. The website is visually appealing and professional; it has reflected the functions of Centre link in a nice way. The fact that the Centre link website is appealing will help in generating a positive impression towards it. The website has used an immensely nice color scheme that blends well, creating a good mood for all the people who may be in need of help.
