To succeed in practically all the professional fields, communication skills are among the most important skills that one needs. Proper communication calls for efficiency and effectiveness in the whole process from when the message is released by the sender to the designated receiver; there are several channels one needs to be conversant and comfortable, including face to face and written ways of communication among others; this is what is required to be a good communicator.
I scored 57 in the test (this is within the highest category). In the way I choose a specific way of communication on different circumstances actually show how I understand my role as a communicator. Making sure the audience gets all the concepts behind the topic one is expressing or \talking about; using simpler language that is relevant to a respective audience helps to in ironing out several issues including misunderstandings in the audience. This does not only apply when sending messages but also when an individual is receiving a message; communication involves both ends, it is the sending and receiving of information.
My strengths in communication as per the interpretation is being able to analyze problems and take some time by myself to figure out a particular communication style and mode that would be best for respective situations and audience. People have respect in my clear communication, because I take time to explain the concepts in my topic hence the audience understands better.
My greatest weakness pointed out in analyzing the quiz score is being too detailed in my talks where usually I give too much information that I snot necessary at that time; this wastes time for the audience and even wears them down they might not be able to capture major points mentioned later in the talks. In as much one achieves objective in covering the topic planned, much information also confuses the audience.
If a message is sent but not received in the manner in which it was sent, there is no proper communication; receiving of a message for instance in face to face communication requires proper listening skills. Listening is about concentrating on the message being conveyed at that specific time by the other party, in as much as one the sender has more efforts in passing the information employing skills such as maintaining eye contact, the receiver has to focus and not engage in other activities such as checking he phone or facing other directions; these are among the poor skills in listening that break communication.
The quiz majors on skills concerning face to face communication, this is important in every day activity in work places, maintaining eye contact in this type of communication is an important aspect to mention. Other areas of communication in work places, concerning professionals include presentation skills where once in a while a professional would require presenting on the mastered area. One maybe a professional in certain field but may not be able to explain the concepts and understanding of issues in the same to a clueless audience. Ability to read mind of the audience and get feedback, to be sure the message was understood; feedback is not necessarily verbal. Skills on writing and reading are also important in a professional life of authors for instance.
