Although perceived as simple, obtaining quality leadership skills seems involving and
challenging to achieve. Influential leaders undergo several relevant leadership strategies to
become successful in future. Besides, good leadership entails the full participation of members.
Team spirit influences the performance of an organization significantly. Members feel
appreciated hence increases their rate of participation as a unit. Successful leaders use their
appropriate leadership qualities to entice members into the organization's activities necessary for
a positive outcome. Flexibility and close association between leaders and members create a
friendly environment that provides the required goals. This essay explains ways of obtaining
successful leaders and how their influence on members increases the sustainability of the
organization.
According to McLeod (2018), motivation plays a significant role in increasing the
performance of an individual towards something. In management, motivation influences
employees’ performance leading to an increased productivity rate. Practising of motivation by
business premises and organization provides a good result. The promise of reward seems
essential to the organization's prosperity. Motivation creates a conducive environment to
members hence raising their morale towards work. As a result, self-esteem inspires them to work
with confidence putting in mind there is a reward at the end. Motivational theories help managers
and leaders understand the significance of giving reward to their subjects.
Furthermore, Herzberg’s motivational and hygiene theory explains the importance of
internal job factors as motivating forces towards the achievement of a goal (Juneja (n.d.)).
According to Herzberg theory, employees’ performance improves when included in organization
activities such as planning and decision making. Apart from external rewards, employees’

intrinsic factors appear necessary for the proper functioning of the organization. Appropriate
internal job factors such as friendly environment, recognition and good relation enhance the
organization's performance. Therefore, motivation influences the performance of employees in
an organization. Leaders and managers should find relevant ways of inspiring their subjects or
employees for their organizations to achieve appropriate goals.
Effective leadership styles and attitudes increase an organization's performance.
Authentic leadership style appears more relevant compared to others. It exhibits intrapersonal,
interpersonal and developmental capabilities. It is composed of four different but closely linked
components; self-awareness, internalized moral perspective, balanced processing, and relational
transparency which makes it more appropriate (Northouse, 2016). Authentic leaders understand
their values, give credit to followers' views, and use the same analysis to strengthen leadership
capabilities. Such leaders also hold a strong relationship with followers.
Moreover, leaders and followers develop a sense of trust, belief, and closeness.
Interacting with fewer boundaries between employees and managers provide a feeling of being
relevant in an organization. Authentic leadership, therefore, increases the association between
employees and employers, which is a fundamental aspect of the achievement of required goals.
Despite showing some weaknesses, democratic leadership seems relevant in any working
environment. It also fosters members' feeling and involvement in the organization's operation.
Inclusivity aspect makes members feel valued and integrated within the organization.
Democratic leaders demonstrate friendly, approachable and trustworthy aspects which promotes
the effectiveness of the organization. Also, leaders help others realize their potential and use their
skills effectively. The only challenge associated with democratic leadership is that the leader has
the final suggestion on decision making.

Apart from leadership styles, the right leadership attitude improves the working drive
among employees in an organization. Good communication skills between leaders and group
members help the organization overcome problems through proper use of conflict resolution
methods. Sufficient communication skill is an indispensable tool in leadership for providing
appropriate policies and measures in an organization. Communication helps in finding a solution
to challenges encountered between members within the organization or groups. Despite the
existence of several ways of communication, they all function towards achieving the same goal,
which is creating a good relationship. Firms and business premises demonstrate the aspect of
development due to appropriate communication methods. Appropriate communication skills
within an organization promote teamwork which is essential in obtaining a set target.
Moreover, influential leaders empower others. Giving power and authority to members
creates a good relationship between members and the leaders, resulting in better performance.
Besides, members or employees feel they are part of the system or organization through
performing leadership roles. Empowerment increases a strong bond between leaders and
employees. The cohesion promotes cooperation within the organization; hence, the realization of
the set goals. Assigning of leadership roles among members influences their leadership ambition
in future. Furthermore, empowerment does not only create conducive relation among individuals
within the organization but helps in the development of the system. Leaders and members feel
grateful when the organization shows the aspect of growth.
Sharing and owning responsibility helps in the development of an organization.
Influential leaders use their resources toward inspiring the organization's activities. Leaders who
have the organization at heart do not get destructed from achieving their set goal. Leader aims to
make the organization perform much better than before. Sharing the same responsibility with

members reduces the gap between leaders and members promoting a good relationship. The
excellent relationship portrayed in the organization inspires its growth and also benefit all
members. Involving members in decision-making processes further enhances their love for the
organization. An organization that demonstrates love always performs better due to the excellent
relation encompassed.
Leadership and management are complementary terms linked to each other, and it is
almost impossible to extricate one from the other. Both leadership and management entail
influencing, working with people with a mission of achieving a common goal (Algahtani, 2015).
Leadership and management skills are essential for success in any business entity or an
organization. Combination of the characteristics of the two terms in a business venture increases
the growth of the organization. Managers who possess leadership skills seem very useful in
leading their organization. They influence greatly the performance of their employees and the
creation of a conducive environment that encourages positive operation of the organization. It is,
therefore, vital for managers to have leadership qualities as it helps in providing appropriate
managing skills responsible for relevant productivity.
Personal leadership style involves an individual set of rules and norms that guide him
towards achieving his/her daily goals. It is the beliefs and principles one uses to evaluate
information and respond to people and situation. Leadership entails association and involvement
of all personnel within an organization. The course book provides that leadership requires a
combined effort from several people. Although in some circumstances an individual decision is
required, teamwork views seem valuable. According to the course book, influential leaders and
managers display no barrier between them and the subordinates. The close relationship further

impacts the growth of the organization positively. Successful leadership requires a combination
of several strategies.
Enough resources and personnel are significant for the proper functioning of an
organization. A leader is responsible for all activities taking place within an organization. When
the performance is splendid, the whole organization receives a compliment. Unfortunately, when
the organization demonstrates ineffective results, all nonsense sentiments go to the leader. To
avoid such complaints, a leader should implement appropriate measures that help operate the
organization successfully—contributing positively to an organization involving practicing
several methods and applying the best. Successful leaders who appreciate the growth of an
organization hands over the leadership throne to a member provided the process anticipates for
increased productivity. Incorporating others and having trust and faith in them further improves
the operation of an organization (DuBrin, 2019).
The Bible provides relevant information towards successful leadership. Jesus is
pronounced the best leader due to His influential leadership style. Furthermore He demonstrates
teamwork by forming a group of twelve disciples in spreading the gospel (John 21:15). Including
others to His ministerial mission portray qualities of a leader who values teamwork in an
organization. He also shows love through washing their feet (John 13:1-7). Jesus as a leader
depicted all leadership qualities in His ministerial work. Jesus influential leadership styles when
applied in organization helps in achieving required goals.
In conclusion, successful leadership requires involvement and inclusivity of the entire
organization’s personnel. Working together as a team improves organization goals hence
relevant. Also, influential leaders plan appropriately the best strategies the organization can
assume to be competitive with the rest. Motivation is another influential aspect of leadership.

Motivational aspect increases self-drive within individuals resulting in an improved performance
in an organization. The Bible also supports effective leadership; Jesus is an example of such a
leader. Jesus portrays teamwork in leadership through engaging the twelve disciples in His
ministerial missions.
