Sample Research Paper on Life in Middle Empire

Life in the middle kingdom or empire revolved around the background of the ancient individuals.  The purpose of these people was to serve, enhance divine cults, and also preserve souls in the afterlife. Religion practices during this period were to document accounts for individuals to practically use them in daily life.

During this era, a maturing church encountered various issues that affected its cultural, accommodation, apostasy, and ethical norms. The aspects of spiritual maturity lead to provocation of the conversations in church which was strange. It happened when a section of Christians ended up criticizing others for lack of commitment in religion practices. The issue of discipleship that was anciently referred to as sanctification and was part of maturity in churches. This was to reflect the life of followers in relation to how they engaged in good deeds until when they died.

The cultural issues that affected maturity of the church incorporated pride based on the capability in which an individual understood the bible. 1. It is a good thing for individuals to be proud of how they knew the bible. However, it was wrong for them to look down upon fellows who didn’t understand it well. In the bible, Paul accounts that knowledge is a factor that puffs up whereas love builds up. This was a message to Christians who felt that it was an accomplishment to know the bible, and failed to share their biblical knowledge with others. This was wrong and a clear sign of immaturity in the religion during that period.

The bible was also to be used as a bridge to the culture and not as a barrier against it. Life in the middle empire entailed different cultures which implied that they had to unite and abide by the bible.

Despite the cultural issue, a religion that depicted maturity was all about what God knows and loves. Another issue that concerned immaturity in churches during those days is when they preached about truth without grace. In the bible, John reveals how Jesus arrived full of truth and grace, which implies that the two are never separated. For a congregation to exhibit maturity in church, they had to stay true to land into the right direction of grace. It was also immature when followers embraced grace without being true to themselves. 2.

In this period, the issue with various cultures is that they were harsh towards each other especially when they perceived aspects that surrounded them to be evil. This was a symbol of spiritual immaturity among Christians from different cultures because they perceived God to not have loved but hated the world which is wrong. In this regard, it is not the world that was full of sins and corruption but rather Christians who didn’t believe in the word of God. It is clear that Jesus himself mingled with notorious sinners and outsiders while at the same time, he reserved his harshest words for people in the religion. The church during those days failed to follow suit by embracing all individuals despite their culture to be part of the religion.

In middle empire, accommodation for a maturing church incorporated historical buildings. For instance, this involved the Romanesque architecture constructions that flourished in the medieval era.

It was believed that for a church to develop to maturity, it had to cater for the needs of the prophetic ministry. In this period, accommodation was a challenge as majority of individuals were crowded in a similar venue, and lived a life that was not comfortable. For instance, people lived in squares, streets and sidewalks especially in Rome which was one of the most densely populated cities in the world.  In this regard, lack of accommodation was an issue that contributed to immaturity in religion. This is because the servants of God were not well catered for due to high populated cities.

Apostasy in this era became formally distracted with the rise of Islam religion in the Middle Eastern regions. Earlier, the Roman and Greek believers had been content to permit their gods to take care of their situation if they were insulted. As a result, early Christians took advantage of the tolerance to revile the gods.3. The issue with Apostasy became evident when Christians were not willing to extend similar sort of tolerance when it took over imperial power reigns. This situation became tight because individuals were no longer allowed to believe in God or other gods. Blasphemers became liable to various punishments that hindered them to repeat similar offences. Furthermore, individuals who engaged in apostasy created more issues that incorporated rejection of supernatural religion and death threats. The problem is that voices that attempted to dispute the matter were silenced during the middle age.  As a result, this issue of apostasy contributed to spiritual immaturity of individuals across churches.

Ethical norms in Christianity are principles that incorporate systemizing, recommending and defending concepts which are related with biblical teachings.  The ethical consensus of the era since the middle empire existed has been noted to be eroding in a steady manner. There was rise of ethical abuse in church and this inflicted fear among Christians with faith. It happened when the situation could closely resemble the society that no longer obeys the bible. In addition, individuals against these norms contributed to spiritual immaturity. As a result, this made the church lose its grip on moral authority and courage among its followers.

Based on the ethical standards, church leaders were required to seek and uphold Christian conduct and values. The bible further mandates that Christians should act at all times in light of contemporary society and its needs. Through ethical norms, the church gets to address its issues by appointing leaders to motivate and inspire people. The church in middle empire should have avoided spiritual immaturity by embracing principles of integrity, competence, respect and integrity. This was to ensure that leaders served Christians in relation to teachings from the bible.

The church in the middle empire handled social pressure by establishing small groups in various cities across the empire. 4. During the moment of the major empire-wide persecution, there was great pressure in the middle of the third century. This era was identified as a crisis in the Roman Empire. In this period, Christians were persecuted because they did not believe in rituals and gods.

On the contrary, they choose to believe in the true and living God as a way of handling such social pressure. In addition, Christians also spread good news concerning the epistle to non believers to inspire them to seek God in their endeavors. This reduced social pressure when majority of sinners in the empire converted to Christianity.
