First, myths are classified as one of the important tools for an organisation to use to enable its operations to achieve organizational goals. Organizations adopt organizational myths since the perspective of myths is useful especially in accounting. Additionally, myths assist organizations in their design of organizational structure and financial control.

  • Discuss some of the advantages and disadvantages of using MBOR in a public organization.
MBOR in a public organization increases the effectiveness of management. It helps the management to think and plan for the results they want to obtain. MBOR gives a clarification of the organizational roles and responsibilities of workers with the aim of achieving organizational goals. It also helps in identifying deficiencies in an organization such as poor communication. The limitations of MBOR include time consuming and difficulty in potential identification of individuals. It is a complex structure that presents difficulty in identifying individual ratings since every individual has a different goal.
3.) Discuss some of the main contextual constraints to which leaders in the organization discussed in Chapter 6 are subjected, both internal and external

Leaders face changes that are unpredictable in their decision making processes within the company. They also suffer turbulence and inconsistency, which makes them to change their profile in relation to the condition at hand (Tom et al). Leaders face heavy responsibilities, ranging from recruiting to training, besides bearing the burden of people quitting an organization.

4.) Identify some recent reforms and changes in structural and cultural features of the organization discussed in chapter 7.

The Norwegian police force established a police division that had two sections. One section was for inspection and planning, while the other section was for administration purposes.

5.) Discuss one or more of these reforms and changes from the instrumental, cultural and myth perspectives.

            From the instrumental perspective, establishing a police division that has two sections, the inclusion of two divisions improves performance of the organization. From the cultural perspective, this force has a basis in offering the best services, hence change implementation. From a mythical perspective, this organization is getting legitimacy through effective allocation of duties within its structures.

6.) Identify the main goals behind the reform discussed in chapter 8.

The main goals are productivity and efficiency with their main emphasis placed on performance.

7.) Discuss the effects of the reform by referring to a narrow and extended concept of effects, the difficulties of measuring effects, the effects on the main goal, and possible side effects.

The effects of the reform include societal effects, content-related effects and symbolic effects. Difficulties encountered in measuring these effects include a problem of motivation, independence, time, inconsistency, and manifold criteria.

8.) What are the main dependent and independent variables in a design perspective, as discussed in chapter 9?

Dependent variables include productivity, efficiency. Independent variables include culture and myths.

9.) Discuss what is meant by a transformative approach and how useful it is to understand reforms and change in public organizations.

It is a mediatory step taken by a public organization with the aim of bringing positive change. It is useful to understand reforms and change in public organizations since they are the core values of any organization.

Public employees need to rise up against corruption and laziness in these offices and portray a better image of the government.

            The most listened to language today is demonstrations. However, on many occasions, protests in the quest for attention are turned into crime and activities that may endanger the lives of individuals. President Obama is right in requesting protestors not to be opportunistic during protests to include violence. Every individual has the right to speech, but this should not be turned into unjust actions by protestors (Horwitz and Lowery).

On many occasions, determination will not know any obstacle. Eric Holder is one of the people who have worked towards disapproving his opponents. He clarifies the fact that it is not all about one’s political skills, but one’s vision and determination. His successes are a pure reflection of a man determined to fight for the affairs of the common man. His involvement in getting tough on the mortgage fraud and health-care schemes is better history than his counterparts as he leaves office.
