Studies show that excessive consumption of alcohol result in reduced sensitivity of sexual organs while increasing the time taken to orgasm (Harry, 2010). While many appreciate prolonged intercourse due to longer time is taken to orgasm, regular and excessive consumption of alcohol may result in reduced lubrication especially in women, have difficulties in having an orgasm, and when such occurs, it may be of reduced intense. Contrary to female, side effects of increased alcohol consumption in men include difficulties in having and sustaining an erection. In both parties, alcohol may have profound overall effects on one’s sex life as prolonged drinking result in temporary and later permanent infertility (Drinkaware.co.uk, 2016). The Whiskey Penis

Many correlate the influence of alcohol on sex life differently depending on tall of such on one’s life. Understandably, while the use of alcohol boosts one’s ego and reduces anxiety, studies reveal that excessive consumption of such results in erectile dysfunction. Sex is more of perception and feeling. To begin with, the brain may be considered as the largest sex organ since it controls perception and interpretation of feelings (Thornton, 2009). First, individuals create interest and urge to have sex with another after perception of what they would gain from such. Later, the brain is involved in receiving stimuli from sensitive organs for instance nerve endings in the penis hence facilitating faster orgasm. However, increased consumption of alcohol reduces the sensitivity of such nerve endings hence the brain experiences reduced or not sexual stimulation. Increased levels of alcohol in the body have transported to various organs, for instance, the penis and as a depressant affects nervous system vital for sexual arousal and sending messages to the brain for interpretation (Thornton, 2009). Further, excess alcohol in one’s system causes expansion of blood vessels involved in transporting blood to various parts of the body including the penis. As a result, the penis is not supplied with enough blood that helps with erection for instance expansion and relaxation of blood vessels.

In essence, sex is best in the presence of fluids. For example, the process involves lubrication of female sex organ and production of fluids by both parties during sex. Studies reveal that increased consumption of alcohol reduces body fluids as alcohol causes dehydration. Such is as a result of reduced blood fluids that facilitate the process of erection (Thornton, 2009). Further, high levels of alcohol in one’s blood results in increased levels of a hormone that results in erectile dysfunction. The body may only utilize fluids and only works at full capacity, for instance, facilitating erection by staying hydrated. Also, the penis muscles have to be supplied with enough fluids for the nourishment of glands and are filled with blood that results in an erection. Therefore, to reduces the possibility of erectile dysfunction and maintain one’s sex-life, there is a need to regulate the amount of alcohol consumed in a day. According to Lizette (2015), men should only drink one drink a day that would reduce the levels of alcohol saturation in one’s system. The liver digests and filters alcohol contents slowly and exceeding levels of alcohol consumption to high concentrations of alcohol saturation in the body makes it impossible for the organ to filter such. Overall, hydration intensifies body functions hence increasing chances of erection and reduction of erectile dysfunction.

Therefore, accumulation of smaller amounts of alcohol in women system is likely to result in health problems compared to men who tend to drink excessively. Further, studies reveal that women are prone to self-medication and abuse of other drugs compared to men and would use drugs to cope with depression, problems in their relationship, and stress. Further, health concerns related to increased consumption of alcohol include liver diseases as a result of cumulated alcohol in one’s system, and brain damage for instance reduction of brain size and death of brain cell (Helpguide.org, 2016).
