The organizational success is determined by multiple factors, top on the list is the manager factor. The manager is the emblem through which motivation and progression of the organization derive strength. It is the prime role of managers to propel the organization from one level of achievement to another and to enhance relational collaboration as they play their key roll to maneuver and boost the company strategic plan. Outstanding managers though, go the extra mile and embrace the leadership role for more significant results (Heifetz et al 129). These professionals are able to distinguish the times and know when they are required to be at the front line as leaders, thus showing the way as role models. Effective managers know what to do at every given time with minimal or no friction at all with the subordinates. Top most of the quality of the manager is to be conversant with his team. He is required to know who the correct individual for the correct function is. At any given time he must be able to totally be in charge reserving the rights to hire and to fire. Owing to the enormous nature of the functionalities of the manager, there must always be a suitable environment to allow the same not to be in any kind of inappropriate situation. Creating confidence among the staff is a strength that cannot be ignored. When the support staff knows that they have won the confidence of the manager, they will be able to raise the levels of their productivity with or without any supervision. With support from the staff members grow and grasp their full potential and meeting the target and the set goals. The manager is always able and ready to reward exemplary staff’s accomplishments.  Holding his staff members answerable for failing to meet the projected performance and ensuring an ethical and secure working atmosphere is top at the manager’s diary (Kaptein 927).

The art of communicating is a skill that the manager must seek to perfect. This will enable him to keep his team informed and equipped with the policies and work ethics that is required at every level of job groups from the top management down to the lowest subordinate staff. A feeling creeps in to the mind that “I have less control over my working life” What follows after one feels helpless in the work place is stress. In good faith the worker may opt to stay a little longer in that workshop, take at least one more call from a customer or even dispatch one more order to the client. Prolonged pressure at the place of work is associated with gloomy moods, overreacting on issues, deteriorating interpersonal relationships, low concentration and loss of memory among other problems.

The Deserved Refresher

A break from the tight and demanding workplace is not just for pleasure but a refresher for peak performance. The manager’s break would serve to reenergize and revitalize the mental power, the physical strength and emotional stability. A break from the workplace is a moment to reflect on the far that one has grown with the company, where he failed and how he would have instead made it as he refreshes. Building loyalties is another aspect that the manager would capitalize upon. It is observed that people are extra fruitful when rested (Heifetz et al 129). Burnout cases are easily ignored and therefore making the workplace stress not easily manageable which more often than not lead to a breakdown and thus recovery consequences become more expensive to bare both to the individual and to the company at large. Breaking and joining the family away from the routine work practice would relieve the chronic stress. The crushed emotional systems get healed on recreational vacation that tends to recreate our gusto. These recreational activities also tent to recreate our moods in a positive manner, getting back our confidence and restoration our interpersonal connectivity. This recovery process gets one to self-realization and gives us back the ability to socialize with the right and sober refreshed emotions (Kaptein 927).

The Improved Performance

The tradition of vacations was begun by companies in the wake of the twentieth century as a means to enhance productivity. It was then discovered that employees returned refreshed from these breaks. It was observe that much work was as a result, done with more efficiency as well as improved attitude towards work, fellow employees as well as the management. The manager will be viewed by the subordinate as more of a leader than a manager, thus increasing their trust on him.

Selfobjectivity: The manger’s capability to appraise himself is a notable quality that would make rightly assess himself in the view of his strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and the threat as he occupies his post as the team leader. This quality will attract other desirable qualities such as the ability to listen, consultation, delegation, and empathy among other courteous and realistic attributes.

Analytic thinking: For any organization to sail through the highly competitive market, innovation is a key impetus that is deserved by any progressive firm. The manager must be in the lead as far as innovation is concerned. The capability to interpret and expound innovative patterns and dynamism of new trends will call for charming manages to be able to lead the organization over milestones of achievements.

Behavioral flexibility: It is the spirit of the leader that will set the mood and a favorable atmosphere down the hierarchies for a friendly working environment. This will result to perfected productivity. The ability to tame personal temperaments to respond objectively as opposed to being subjective would easily lead to accomplishment of managerial goals and objectives.

Oral communication: Verbal utterances determine a lot when it comes to obedience and subjection to authority. The tone of the oral communication will result to the employees complying with no need to be compelled. The refreshed manager will portray the ability to precisely convey what needs to be done with clarity and persuasive speech.

Written communication: For effective and formal information sharing, writing is one of the most effective means. The manager is supposed to pass information precisely to the personnel. This may through circulars means, memos as well and letters as well. The entire system in the work place will find harmony and a coordinated way of operating.

Personal impact: when the entire workforce appreciate the manager as an emblem of progress, posterity and success, then every single member of staff will have a sense of belonging thus offering the best of their efforts to the organization. The manager’s ability to create proper and pleasant impression as well as instilling assurance no doubt will boost the performance and the productivity of the organization.

Resistance to stress:  The manager’s break from the work place relieves all stress and refreshes thus overcoming the snare of stress. The manager who overcomes stress will equally be able to cruse the organization through stressful seasons and fail to succumb to the pressure.

Tolerance for uncertainty: Every organization would at one point or another passes through various turbulent times and seasons. Whether or not, this organization will prevail all seasons is depended to the manager’s ability.  The capacity to thrive in ambiguous and perilous situations will count on the strength, both passion and charisma of the said manager (Mumford et al 161).

It is a desirable thing to enjoy vacation so as to give the best of energy, expertise and skill. Not only the company manager but also every other member of staff should enjoy this privilege. These breaks should be allowed occasionally in terms of say thirty days for every single year, and also weekly duty offs. Such kind of an arrangement though may seem to waste the organizational man-hours, will definitely offer desirable results.
