SCENARIO
The major service providers for mobile cellular services in Malaysia are Celcom Axiata Berhad,
Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd, Maxis Berhad and U Mobile Sdn Bhd. The number of mobile
cellular subcriptions stood at 44.601 million as at 4Q 2019.
As 2018, there are 6 licensed cellular operators in Malaysia : Celcom, DIGI Telecomunications,
Maxis Communications, U Mobile, YTL Communications and Unifi mobile (formely known as
webe digital).
Telecom companies generate revenue via subscription mobile services, fixed landline, and
wireless broadband services. These companies offer a high-speed broadband facility, wireless
network and mobile security-related services to businesses.
Telecommunication industry is important because it enables companies to communicate
effectively with customers and deliver high standards of customer service, and is a key
element in allowing employees to collaborate esily from wherever they located, remote or
local.
TASKS :
1. Students need to appoint a group consisting of (4) to (5) members each.
2. Each group must present verbally to your lecturer the factors that may affect marketing
environments and consumer behavior in this telecomunication industry :
i) In your presentation, explain macro and microenvironment factors that may
affect this telecomunication industry.
ii) Explain the factors that may affect consumer buying behavior in
telecommunication industry.
3. Your presentation should consist of the following :
i) Content (refer task no 2 (i) & (ii).
ii) Conclusion
iii) Recommendations / suggestion /opinion
iv) References
4. Provide your infographic PowerPoint Slides maximum of fifteen (15 pages).
5. Use references from sources such as books, journal articles, newspaper or website
articles, and others to support the points of your presentation.
6. Submit your PowerPoint Slides in PDF via Teams / Google Classroom / Whatsapp group
(refer to your lecturer).
7. Use APA Style Guide in your work and avoid plagiarism. Any plagiarism found in your
work will be penalised and could be referred to the College Disciplinary Board.
8. All team members must be present for oral presentations to earn the grade.
9. Submission date for your PowerPoint slides is week 7 (30th September 2022).
