Page 2: The table of contents

This page contains the headings and sub-headings of your project and the corresponding page numbers where these sub-headings can be found. The headings and sub-headings must not be numbered and must match exactly the headings and sub-headings as used in the report. The table of contents should follow the APA style where the levels of headings are observed.

Page 3: List of tables and figures

This page follows the same format as the table of contents. However, it does not include the subheadings in your paper. It rather includes the list of tables and graphs in your report, their descriptive captions, and the corresponding page on which they can be found. The captions MUST match the captions used within the report.

Page 4: Abstract

The abstract is a maximum of half a page summary of your project. Make sure the abstract is BRIEF.

The Report Proper

These pages will contain the actual write up of your report. Here are the major parts of your report proper:

Make sure to include the following sections in your introduction:

  • Move 1: Define the subject

  • Move 4: Stress the importance
  • Move 5: Offer background information
  • Move 6: Forecast the organization

Other requirements

  • Make sure to use IN-TEXT citations in this part of your project, for example (Richardson, 2013, p.). If you do not use in-text citations, this part will be considered as plagiarized.
  • As you will be using information from your SOURCES, make sure to SUMMARIZE, PARAPHRASE, and QUOTE. After you paraphrase or summarize (which means re-write the information and ideas from your sources in your own words), you have to cite (use in-text citation). If you quote, you also use an in-text citation. No in-text citation for borrowed material or ideas means the information is plagiarized even if you paraphrase and quote. Keep quotations to a minimum (one short quotation per page, if necessary). Paraphrase as much as you can.
  • Make sure to include graphics where appropriate to help illustrate and support textual information. This is a brief project. There should not be too many graphics on each page. However, graphics you use should be referred to in-text, labelled, and referenced in the reference list if borrowed from other sources or if the data used for developing the graphic is borrowed from other sources. Use the APA guide for referencing graphics on Blackboard in the chapter for Graphics.

– Make sure to use information from a variety of sources.

The End Matter

  1. References

This page is a full list of the information cited in the text. While you used short in-text citations in the body of your project, you will write the full information about each source here. Refer to the APA lecture notes on Blackboard for more information about how to cite in full, whether the information is from a book, magazine, or website… etc.
