Human Resources Management (HRM) Assignment on The Impact of COVID on Remote Work Environments

Students will develop a research paper on a topic related to human resources management. The topic must be approved in advance by the instructor. The research paper must meet the two conditions: (1) it must be based on scholarly research (i.e., involve research articles and analysis), and (2) it must be clearly relevant to human resources and personnel management.
Your research paper should be formatted like a literature review. Literature reviews are designed to do two things: 1) give your readers an overview of sources you have explored while researching a particular topic or idea and 2) demonstrate how your research fits into the larger field of study, in this case, human resources management. The research paper will be a minimum of 5 (five) pages and a maximum of 7 (seven) pages, it should reference a minimum of 6 (six) scholarly articles. This page count does not include the title page, abstract, tables, graphics, and reference pages. Each student is expected to find relevant, recent, and credible research. Under no circumstances will references from dictionaries, the classroom textbook, or encyclopedias be accepted as references, including online sources such as Wikipedia. No more than 15% of your paper should be from direct quotes. Also, the FIT Library has a full database of scholarly, peer-reviewed articles, books, etc. dedicated to HR, which can be useful in writing your paper.

Your papers are expected to be clear and to the point, well researched, well-referenced, and without typographical or grammatical errors. You are expected to make good use of the writing tools available to you in Microsoft Word. Additionally, you are expected to write your research papers in the proper research style using APA guidelines. If you don’t know about that style, you should consult the Student Resource Center, as well as your writing manuals and the APA website.

General Formatting Requirements:
In accordance with APA guidelines, your paper should be typed, double-spaced on standard-sized paper (8.5″ x 11″) with 1″ margins on all sides. You should use a clear font that is highly readable. APA recommends using 12 pt. Times New Roman font.
Include a page header (also known as the “running head”) at the top of every page. To create a page header/running head, insert page numbers flush right. Then type “TITLE OF YOUR PAPER” in the header flush left using all capital letters. The running head is a shortened version of your paper’s title and cannot exceed 50 characters including spacing and punctuation. Also include an abstract and references. The title page, abstract, and reference pages do not count towards the 5-page minimum page requirement.
