Each student will develop an original teaching philosophy that incorporates the following components:
a. Articulation of a learning theory that is defined in
detail (use literature support for this), and its application to learning in
the college classroom.
b. Discussion of philosophy and its connection to the teaching
style and learning outcomes.
c. Examples of how students are engaged in classroom activities
such as discussion, assignments and fieldwork (discipline-specific)
d. Discussion of grading policies
e. Include a reference at the bottom of the document
Six areas will be assessed: (1.) learning theory identified and explained, (2.)learning goals, (3.) pedagogical methodology-teaching methods, (4.) assessment of student learning, (5.) assessment of teaching, and (6.) style/structure/mechanics.
