Assessment Criteria:

To achieve a satisfactory result, your assessor will be looking for your ability to demonstrate the following key skills/tasks/knowledge to an acceptable industry standard:

·         Analysed current economic, historical, political, social and legal contexts and their influence on service delivery

·         Demonstrated understanding of duty of care and dignity of risk

·         Identified risks and strategies for working in the AOD sector for self and clients

·         Demonstrated understanding of harm minimisation and the National Drug Strategy in Australia.

·         Listed 5 reasons why people use substances

·         Researched an article or resource outlining a co-occuring AOD and mental health issue and provided a brief summary

·         Identified two personal values and how to adequately deal with issues when planning interventions

·         Identified an AOD organisation, their values and how they apply in practice

·         Demonstrated an understanding of models of delivery and their treatment approaches

·         Demonstrated an understanding of Prochaska and DiClemente’s stages of change, relapse and provided 3 questions to ask a client in order to establish their stae of change

You will receive up to two (2) attempts at this assessment task. Should your 1st attempt be unsatisfactory (U), your teacher will provide feedback and discuss the relevant sections / questions with you and will arrange a due date for the submission of your 2nd attempt. If your 2nd submission is unsatisfactory (U), or you fail to submit a 2nd attempt, you will receive an overall unsatisfactory result for this assessment task. Only one re-assessment attempt may be granted for each assessment task, with the exception of Apprentices or Trainees who are permitted an additional supplementary assessment.
