Sample Essay on the 1945-49 Chinese revolution

The 1949 Chinese communist revolution was a turning point to many the Chinese as well as a historic mark in the world history as it was when the Chinese communist took power turning the country into a communist state. It was characterized by social economic and political environment. The Chinese being dominated by agriculture had outdated crafts techniques as trade products. The ruling class imposed tax burden over the Chinese poor and this could have been a good reason for the Chinese to usher in an alternative system since there was no social reforms (Lary 4).

The social class setting also contributed to the revolution since the upper class/elites enjoyed more privileges and had a higher standard of living as compared to the low classes comprising of poor people (189). There was political disorganization where the warlords controlled majority of the country. The Chinese war with japan also led to the wreaking of the ruling systems. With the greed and corruption of the GMD increasing, their trust among the people decreased thus giving the communist party an added advantage to win the people (181-2). The communist propagated campaigns for a restrained land policy since it varied between the people (34). Through their propagation, they won the trust of the Chiang army who helped them organize guerilla wars against the Japanese. This led to the freedom of many who had been slaves in the warlord control zones. Mao Zedong thereforeoak advantage of the weak GMD and were prepared to fight the Japanese better and more tactfully than the GMD/KMT. The 1945 communist victory led to the freedom of china from political disorganization as well as from foreign control setting the warlord zones free and incorporating them into Chinese republic (187-8). After the revolution, the communist party put the economy on track and land reforms were introduced and new technology availed to enable farmers raise production. The communist party also took Russia which helped reshape china into modern industrialization (201). The revolution also led to the formation of new constitution under the communist party
