Sample Critical Thinking Paper on World War 1

The result of World War 1 was the conquering of the German Empire, the elimination of its colonial holds, and the ultimate rise of Hitler. Moreover, there was the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Turkish Empire, and the Russian Empire, the sovereignty of numerous smaller, ethnically-anchored nations in Central and Eastern Europe, the start of Arab nationalism and the assurance of a Jewish native land in the then Palestine by Britain. Germany ended up losing a lot of its European affluence, for instance, Prussian Poland, the Rhineland, and West Prussia (Keegan 65-76). Nevertheless, Austria-Hungary had the most profound loss with most of its affluence turning into sovereign nations; these include Romania, Czechoslovakia, and Yugoslavia (Herwig 98-106). Similarly, the Ottoman Empire had to let go its prosperity in the Middle East (for example, Iraq and Palestine) and Trebizond.

Conservative Republicans went back to supremacy in 1920 with the voting in of President Warren Harding, after he had conducted a campaign where he promised and come back to normality. Reich (2010) affirms that the election that were held in 1924 signified the greatest tide of American conservatism because the two leading aspirants held campaigns that assured limited government, decreased taxation, and fewer bylaws. During the reign of Coolidge (1923-1929), the economy of the US blossomed and the society became stead. Furthermore, fresh strategies concentrated on Americanizing migrants already residing in the US and limiting the arrival of the fresh migrants into the nation (Reich 34-43).

After effects of the First World War, created radical societal, cultural, and political transformation in Europe and regions outside the ones that were openly engaged (Kennedy 88-97). Boundaries were redrawn, global organizations were established, and different fresh and old principles held a concrete grasp in the mentalities of people.  To sum it up, World War 1 also had the consequence of creating political changes to Germany and the UK by generating near-global vote to these two European powers, making them mass electoral democracies for the initial instance in history.
