For one to apply for an EIA license, he/she should submit EIA report to the Director. The report should be: a) In both soft and hard copies, the hard copies should be fifteen in number b) the proponent or the legal representative should sign the report, this should be followed by a counter signature by the consultant. c) clearly stipulated proof of ownership, signature from the land surveyor who prepared the site plan, summary of the report which is not technical, a notary should present his/her opinion to the ownership of the land by issuing a certificate.

The materials and chemicals used on the site can be carried by the storm water. That water is contaminated by the chemicals, hence water pollution. The ones responsible at the site are required to put in place a range of sediment control best management practices (BMPs). This is to curb pollutants in storm water.
Environment Protection (Standards for Noise) Regulations, 1997, Amendments 2003
The amendments that have been done are changing; the factory and neighborhood noise was defined. The measurement of noise will be effected from one meter from the nearest avenue for all residential buildings facing the direction the noise is coming from. Best means, which are applicable, should be used to minimize waste production. Hazardous waste should not be handled in any way in open and the containers should have clear labeling.
Environmental Protection (Industrial Waste Audit) Regulations 2008
These standards were in line with putting or making the world go green. All industrial activities before they start operating should fill in an Industrial Waste Audit (IWA). Environmental affairs like air, noise and water pollution should be looked at.

The amount of effluent may be removed daily in m3. Penalty calculation should be independent of waste water fees. WMA have the accesses to all liquid flow process permitted by the owner. Waste Water Regulations 2004 to govern the license. License expires after three years. The license should give a notice to WMA before undertaking any activities.

EPR Principle of Taking the Disposal of the PET Bottles in Mauritius
Mauritius is sensitive on its environment but has a waste disposal challenge. Due to this, an ERP principle was enacted in 2001 relating to the PET bottles. Deposit refund system was to be established by bottling companies. The bottling companies were also required to build a system for collecting the collected PET bottles for recycling.
