·         This mindset rejects responsibilities in that people with it do not believe that it is their responsibility to improve their intelligence (victim mentality)

·         People with this mindset are closed-minded meaning that they reject or try to run away from challenges

·         People with this mindset believe that people are product of circumstances

·         In this mindset, intelligence is usually dynamic because it can be developed or changed. Accordingly, people with this mind-set believe in improvement (learning based).

·         This mindset accepts responsibility in that people with it believe that it is their responsibilities to improve their intelligence

·         The mindset is open-minded meaning that people with it accept challenges

·         People with this mindset believe that people are product of their choices

 

·         Students with this mindset do not believe in working hard because they believe their abilities and intelligence are limited. For example, a student may argue that it is unnecessary to work hard in a particular subject because doing so does not prove his/her intelligence

·         A person with this mindset does not believe that obese people can lose weight because he/she believes that they are that way or victims of conditions that cannot be changed

·         A student coming from a poor background might believe that his/her future cannot be changed because he/she is a victim of a poor background

·         Students with this mindset believe in working hard. For example, a student failing in mathematics may believe that putting more effort in mathematics helps him/her to improve performance in mathematics

·         A person with this mindset believes that obese people can easily lose weight because the condition can be changed

·         A student with a growth mindset though coming from a poor background believes that he/she can change his/her future because he/she is not a victim of poverty
