The first topic I am thinking about and interested in is the relationship between racial background and involvement in crime. Over the years, there have been debates, especially in the US, on whether blacks are involved in crime more than other races. This topic is interesting to me as there has been great attention and focus on which among the several races in the US is involved more in criminal activities. A question I have about this topic is whether a person belonging to one racial community, African American for instance, would mean obvious involvement in criminal activities.
The second topic that is of interest to me is whether there is a relationship between social upbringing and the rise in crime rates. Modern society has seen a significant decline in ethical and moral standards, given the poor relationship youths and the elderly. It is argued that the poor social upbringing in society today has played an integral role in the rise in crime rates. This topic makes me curious to know whether society can play a role in reducing the ever-rising crime rates. My question about this topic is how poor social upbringing influences youths’ involvement in criminal activities.
I am also interested in the topic about whether drug abuse influences involvement in crime. This topic is interesting to me because of the efforts and commitments from every corner targeted at eradicating drug abuse based on the fact that it has a hand on the increase in crime rates. My question about this topic is whether any person involved in drug abuse will necessarily get involved in criminal activities.
