According to social disorganization theory, ethnic and racial heterogeneity, poverty, and residential mobility are factors leading to increased delinquency and automobile theft. Routine activity theory however asserts that this theft comes because of opportunities, lack of guardianship and motivated offenders. Thus, factors such as auto-organizational control and population increase automobile theft.
