It can be noted that there are similar constructs among the men and the females. The latter (women) share similar constructs that appear different from those of the men. However, they also share some traits- males and females.

The investigation depicts a leaning towards individuals who are free to speak their mind, fashionable and carry such characteristics as being kind, empathetic and sensitive that underlie being mindful of other persons, their stature in society and opinions. It reveals a preference to dignifiedpeople who respect themselves and others. It also shows an inclination towards amiablemales since birds of the same feather are said to flock together. Therefore, it indicates stable personal constructs.

The analysis displayed that there are particular traits accorded to either genderand influence of social constructionism. It gives insight to gender stereotypes, and this probably underlies the issues that impede effective communication and interactions between the opposite gender and myself. It places my person at a contradictory and conflicting position and hence, strenuous relationships with the opposite sex. It also denotes the social norms of the characters expected to be seen in the different genders. The analysis shows the female gender as envious and fashionable among others that is a normative characterization of their personalities. The investigation also reveals the array of personal perceptions on individuals that may also be dependent on the type or kind of relationship with the participant entity. Phelyster being a very close personal friend is exhibited as having more positive values and constructs that are more ‘accepted’ on my person. Sarah Trenholm suggests that entities treat strangers and the people they know differently (Trenholm, 2014). However, the relationship with Jim- a coworker- suggests an in-between since he is a friend as much as he is only an acquaintance from work.

The constructs can be deemed prejudicial in the terms of gender. The portrayal can be accrued to the influence of social structures and systems. Women take up certain roles that align to particular personality traits or characterizations. In a patriarchal community, men are considered smarter than women and the latter essentiallyrequired being more dignified. The men are implied as strong and high-testosterone beings and this, suggests their sexual and gender identities. The adjectives utilized to describe the men in the paper can be termed masculine that dictate the disparities between the two genders. The shared characteristics can be termed general traits that represent a moral connotation expected of folks in a society e.g. neighborliness, sociable, empathetic and kind among others.

Stereotypes can be defined to be oversimplified images or assumptions of individuals (Bodenhausen, 2009). In this case, the people analyzed are classified on the background of visible physical characteristics- gender. Therefore, the personal traits highlighted can be concluded to be incomplete as they present a bias and a cognitive shortcut influenced by the stereotypical characteristics assigned to the different genders. Stereotypes often overestimate the disparities between groups and under-estimate the differences within the groups (Bodenhausen, 2009). They can be suggested to be negative, in that, they are used to justify discrimination and inequalities subjected to particular groups. Therefore, the characteristics highlighted can be deemed unfair and mere social constructs that do not represent the actual or realistic personality traits of the individual participants. The display inadequate assessments or evaluations of the participants. There also existed a bias towards the social construction of my person. As aforementioned, it can be retorted that the constructions are dependent on the relationships and hence, an inclination to describe oneself in the most positive of ways.

People are motivated to mature rich and complex personal constructs to ensure better comprehension of each other. Communication is a commonality. It means having rich and complex personal constructs allows better general communication and can indicate what an individual needs to work on the most. It allows an entity to be a better listener and have the ability to encode and decode messages with ease. Sarah Trenholm indicates that cognitive complexity occurs when an individual has a large, rich, and varied set of personal constructs (Trenholm, 2014). Therefore, it is suggested that individuals develop complexity in their personal constructs. They should avoid shortcuts such as stereotyping. The reason underlies the fact that the community has assisted in the development of positive and negative categorizations of individuals dependent on social networks. It has a place, stereotype, slur, derogatory name that can be used to describe each individual in the world. Therefore, it is significant for an individual to be able to improve on values and erase negative behaviors learnedntfrom society.
